Once Hannibals' tour on the Veritas was over, he returned to Earth and resumed his Starfleet Marine rank of Major. With the help of a few connections, he was assigned to the Advanced Starship Design Bureau, where he finished up the design work on a new build, bigger, and more capable Miranda Class starship. Taking the genesis of the upgrade originally started by his father Captain Ryland Parker, Hannibal refined the design, incorporating many of the newer technologies which were not available then ( such as regenerative shields ). While at the Embassy on Duronis, many of his improvements were first tested on the USS Bronwyn, where they proved successful.
During his time on Earth, Hannibals' days were full...PT on the morning with the Marines, work on the new starship, home at night with his wife and son. The time with family and working with so many others had mellowed him some, and while he was still incredibly dangerous, it took more to ignite his temper than in past years.
To Hannibals' surprise, he was given command of the ship he had spent so much time designing and getting built...the USS Miller. Along for the cruise was his wife serving as First Officer/Intellligence Officer Kamela Allison-Parker. They had both decided that after this cruise, they would both retire from Starfleet and raise their son, Ryland Arthur Parker.
On Stardate 24001.01, the USS Miller departed Starbase One on her shakedown/training cruise, her new crew of 240 and a squad of 24 Marines and flight crews for her fighters testing the ship to her limits...and doing whatever Starfleet requires of her.
