Gogi was born and raised on a farm just outside a small village and a few miles away from the nearest city. He had a happy childhood, but always knew he would someday move away from his home. He was an adventurous boy and loved exploring and camping from which he developed a love of nature. When he was old enough, he moved to the city to seek work. He lived with his uncle, aunt and cousins who had moved there when he was a child. He did odd jobs, but eventually worked on-board his oldest cousin's freighter ship mostly as a loader. Having acquired a taste for space travel, Gogi wanted more excitement and adventure than just loading and unloading cargo and transporting it to the local systems. As the Bardeezan space program is very small and mostly restricted to defence due to incursions from their Byzallian neighbours, Gogi's chances of experiencing the adventure he craved were very limited. Therefore, he saved whatever money he could and as soon as he had enough, enrolled in Starfleet Academy.
