Weeks later, Blake discusses various theories about Kallo's psychology with Rairen Caide—much of the discussion was Caide reiterating to her that he was a sociologist, not a psychologist. Blake's argument that Kallo's compartmentalised mentality was fragmented like any functioning society does not convince him to engage much about it.

When the Klingon escort vessels T'Kuvma disables it's partner vessel B’Rakh, it's commanding officer Ch'otonn Bagorgh threatens to attack Veritas unless the crew hands Kallo over—Rahman refuses, and the ship takes fire. Rahman, Blake, Kamela Allison, Ikaia Wong and Lilith Thorne demand to hear what Kallo knows that might set the Klingon captain off. He hesitates, but ultimately reveals that, during his time incarcerated, he discovered Bagorgh is dis-satisfied and intends to split from the Klingon Empire, using the Karakka section of the Shoals to begin her more traditionalist regime. Bagorgh does not wish for Klingons outside the Shoals to yet know about her planned revolution, so wants Kallo's head. Allison suggests killing Bagorgh, which Blake vehemently disagrees with.
As the ship flees from the T'Kuvma, a Klingon Defense Force broadcast a message warning against revolutionaries. More impactfully, the Five Suns of Ohanze unite and threaten Bagorgh with the might of the five tribes. It is a dangerous show of force, and the T'Kuvma leaves the area. However, the Ohanze also ask Veritas to leave with haste, with an escort to boot.
Upon their return to Esperance, Kallo is handed off to the Paladin. He gives Blake a deeply awkward hug as he leaves.
