Salan and Meidra T'Lora Sirin were born to astrophysicist Sahriv, and Lenore Sirin, a writer and historian. They were raised alongside their younger sister on Vulcan for the first ten years of their life, until their parents decided that their children needed to experience other cultures by travel. Meidra and Salan returned to Vulcan at age 12 to do their kahs-wan. While this was usually done at age eleven, their father had to convince the elders, one of whom was his own father that Meidra's El-Aurian blood made her just as worthy to go through the ritual. Strangely enough, there were no such qualms over her twin brother going through the ritual, perhaps because he was a male and they could overlook his auburn hair and ice green eyes. | |||
