Admiral Ambrosius and Doctor Boeschg have come aboard the Excalibur to brief the crew on their coming mission, sans Doctor Adea and Commander Yalu who are being cast out by Starfleet Intelligence as a potential risk to the mission. The planet of Demes II is currently in an ice age of sorts but also experiencing a technological boom. SFI believes there may be outside influences and considers this a possible threat to the Federation, but won't say how or why. Doctor Boeschg informed the crew that they would be split into three teams heading to three different areas of concern. Commander MacKenzie will lead Lieutenants Yellir, Sirin, and Dakora to the industrial town of Lakonna. Commander Niac will be leading Lieutenants Etan, Silveira, and Kuppasoop to the port town of Jupe.
