Sival believes that emotions should be regulated, not suppressed. Sival believes that emotions have functions, and they can provide us with critical information when they are effectively regulated.<sup id="fn_5_back">[[#fn_5|5]]</sup> This said, Sival refrains from expressing emotion in most situations, as he considers it unprofessional or bad form. He will show emotions in a calm and restrained manner however among friends and colleagues. Additionally, Sival must either suppress or regulate his emotions to prevent them from becoming too intense and causing damage to his Human/Vulcan biochemistry - he has chosen to regulate them using various techniques.
