[[Alize Sorenson]] - Alize and Nijil met back on the USS Constitution-A. She was the ships mortician and he was a medic. They were both awkward and fascinated with … uncommon things. Such as death and Klingon culture. At the time, he didn’t think much of it except maybe a friend to talk to on occasion. He was transferred to Ops before anything got to serious. Soon after though, Alize was transferred to Ops as lead forensic and mortician. Which gave him more time to get to know her. It was about the time he was made CmO that he realized he liked her more than just a friend. Lucky for him, she did too.
[[Sal Taybrim]] - While his commanding officer, Nijil feels that he and Sal compliment each other well. He highly respects the man and is willing to go through anything with him. They are more than just co-workers. But friends too.
[[Mirra Ezo]] - She was his last CMO when he had just started out on Ops. She was an energetic woman with a big heart. They didn’t always agree on things, but he respected her opinions. There was one time when he had to carry her after being heavily medicated and unable to walk on her own. She had played with his beard and told him she didn’t like it cause it was scratchy. While a polar opposite to himself, they worked well together.

Nijil was the first born to D’Amarak and S’Harien, and only son. He was a baby born on the move. Ready to get into trouble, create messes and havoc and exploring beyond what was safe. He pushed the limits from the get go never afraid. Though having been such a hefty handful, his parents questioned having more. Even after getting hurt, dinged up or into trouble he was attracted to more.

Starfleet Academy would be something different, new, exciting and completely out of Nijil’s element. He was almost 30 when he joined. His youngest sister was 12. The age gap was instantly noticed, as most were younger. Now granted for his people, who had the lifespan of Vulcans or Romulans, he was still fairly young. But while many were off to parties, clubs, and out to get to know a variety of people, he was there to accomplish something. Because up until this point, everything seemed incomplete. Half started and stopped when something else came up.

But while many were off to parties, clubs, and out to get to know a variety of people, he was there to accomplish something. Because up until this point, everything seemed incomplete. Half started and stopped when something else came up.

During this time, he would begin a long desaaterious journey into addition to prescriptions. While on a survivalist tour, something field medics, marines and the like were required to be certified in, there would be an accident. Nijil and anything were being up the rear while scaling lose rocky cliff sides on Brikar. One of the officers above them slipped, sending him, rocks and boulders down towards Nijil and the other officer. Timstin was his name, a agile up and coming marine. There hadn’t been time to react, to move, to help. Only tackled by unforgiving stone. Nijil has been sent flying, only to crash against the earth with immense force. It felt like what an egg being dropped felt like. Bones crushed and muscle screamed in agony. At least he lived. Timstin hadn’t been so fortunate. A crushing blow to the head.
This he was going to finish.

One of the classes he was required to take was a survivalist course up in the mountains. He was paired up with marines and other emergency personal. The idea was to hike up to the top of the mountain and ‘rescue’ those that were trapped. They had to put their skills to the test. Because there weren’t always transporters or shuttles to help save the day. Nijil, and a young, up and coming, marine named Christoph were bringing up the rear. They were a team of six plus the instructor. One of the men above him slipped on loose rocks and boulders, which came tumbling down on Nijil and Christoph. Which in turn, caused both men to fall further.

While Nijil walked away still breathing, unlike Christoph who died instantly, he did get injured. His spine had been fractured, ribs broken, and enough cuts and bruises to nearly hide his identity. He recovered, with the help of strong opioids and a hand full of surgeries. It was then, he started to struggle with addiction. It was just easier to take something and keep going. To push down what hurt and forget about it. And for many years he struggled with taking a variety of medications.

The back still hurts, that much was true. He pushed his body to hard and was unforgiving at the best of times. But drugs helped. Pain relievers and strong opioids, anything to dull the ache or pinch. Anything to make it so he could keep going. And for the most part that’s true. He could never sit still as a child, and now was the same. No way he could be confined or without work. But back problems create more problems, and didn’t go away, even if you wish really, really hard.

Starbase 118 was the first Starbase he’d been stationed too. And for all the ones he could land on, it was the largest of them all. A conglomerate of cultures. He wasn’t sure what to expect, an unusually Captain and even more so CMO. When he came, he found Ezo to be a light hearted woman and reasonable to work with. Of course there was the night she made fun of his beard… But she was very admired by those around. So when she left, there was a noticeable missing part of Sickbay. Something he wasn’t any good at filling. But he was more than a little pleasantly surprised when Alize showed up, in all her glory. A fine posting for a fine woman, mortician and forensic science. Here he found lots to do. Working with the marines as emergency medical response teams, to learning about different worlds. Specifically Klingon - which was a fancy of Alize. He liked what he’d seen and was more then willing to delve in deeper with her. Although the night his mother and siblings came… forever grateful for slipping away with Alize to get rather sloshed in a local pub. After much griping about no CMO, Captain Taybrim surprised him with the position...

More coming soon!
He and Alize’s relationship took a more serious turn. They were officially together, a couple, an item. They were officially dating. And it seemed to be all the more serious when his mother and sisters showed up. Though he was sure they still think Alize is just a friend. Which for Nijil, was still a big deal.
It didn't take long for captain Taybrim to see his leadership skills and in a dire situation Nijil wouldn't hesitate to take charge. During a mission involving those radical cults hell bent on uprooting the Klingon government, their newest XO found herself incompacitated. He quickly took charge of the situation. Keeping everyone safe and in one piece as well as obtaining imperative intel.
During an awards ceremony, Sal promoted him to the position of XO.
The position was short lived however when an emergency request came in for medical personal. An entire system was hit with an unknown virus, one at the time was thought to be through genetic mutation caused from so much interspecies breeding and not enough inoculations to keep sickness at bay. Nijil and a team from all of Starfleet were sent to the three inhabited worlds to lend assistance. The doctors and medical personnel found themselves confined to EV suits for the first month and a half, taking turns to return to the support ships and going through decomp. They couldn’t take a risk. Viruses continued to mutate and became harder to cure. They came to a solution none too soon. After a third of the help had become ill and several dieing from mutated viruses they were able to track down the original virus. With the base cause understood they work day and night to track and predict changes and mutation and finally cut it off before it could get worse. Once that was done and isolation procedures were properly put in place, the teams were able to systematically eradicate individual strands of the virus.
After long months, some weightloss and a crankier than ever attitude, Nijil was finally relieved of duty and allowed to return to Starbase 118. An old friend came through to pick him up, Captain Lucy Endymian. It was nice to catch up with one of the few people who actually liked him. He was informed that a new XO had taken his place during his leave, which he was more than okay with. He was a doctor with poor social skills… He probably would have started a war by now, instead of curing an entire system. Though he is eager to see what’s become of sickbay.

But he wouldn’t go back to Sickbay. When he came back, his very first meeting with Captain Taybrim would have him signing right back up for first officer. It was with little indecisiveness. He’d done it once, surely he could do it again. And he would, to the best of his ability and then some.
