Caitian Viola: Difference between revisions

The [[Caitian]] Viola is a musical instrument originating on Cait. Similar to Terran instruments of the violin family is has a long neck and a number of fine strings, typically five.

Caitians play the instrument by dragging their claws along the strings, creating a distinctive haunting, melancholy sound. Other races usually wear a special soft leather glove fitted with artificial claws made from a diamide alloy.

It is generally agreed on Cait that the best material for making a viola is the wood of the Ta'Verdure Tree which has an unmistakable jade-green colour. All of the most famous examples of these instruments are constructed from this wood.
