The first generation (type A) of this rifle was met with a mixed response, a certain few ships in Starfleet were outfitted with the Type A prototypes, after a multitude of non lethal accidents, the weapon has a build in safety that when activated unleashes a neutralizing electrical shock that can cause fainting, over the accidental self destruction. Ensign [[Wallace Williams]] met this neutralizing electrical shock while test firing a one of the rifles. The Rifles have after multiple accidents been recalled and retrofitted, a few faults in production were rectified and the Second Generation is currently being deployed in field. | |||

The Type B is being met with better response fleet wide, already it has seen multiple actions with marines and anti piracy operations, It is said the Rifle will soon be available fleet wide. | |||
