Praria Markey had what other would classify as a lonely childhood. Her father, as a journalist, travelled a lot and for long periods of time, and her mother, working as a clerk in a hotel in Galway, spent most of the day at said place. And Praria didn't really see her parents a lot, and she remained at home with a family friend, Toz Virsel ([[Bajoran]]), to basically raise her. Early in her childhood this was more than fine; in fact she loved her parents' friend who played "Fix it, Gurgh" with her. Once in the Academy, Praria struggled again with socialisation. She had a lot of social anxiety (as she still does to date) which to fight to overcome, but unfortunately her victories were short-lived. She found that the academic level was much higher than what she was accustomed to, and failed to find her footing at the beginning of the first semester. Nevertheless, she prevailed. | |||
