Ensign G'Renn's first mission with the Andaris Task Force was no cakewalk and immediately introduced her to sickbay life at its most chaotic. An earthquake on the planet Kiros had left one of the species native to the planet, the Kirosians, with a huge emergency situation. Their neighbors the A'Kir called for Federation assistance which led the USS Blackwell and the USS Atlantis to both head for the system to provide assistance. G'Renn and her colleague Doctor Jora led triage operations in sickbay while the chief medical officer worked on the surface. The two doctors had the assistance of a majority of the ship's medical staff, including medical trainee Morin. After hours of work on everything from mending broken legs to surgery to repair a damaged lung, the worst of the medical emergency was over. The ship remained in orbit for days afterward to help in efforts to rebuild in the short-term. | Ensign G'Renn's first mission with the Andaris Task Force was no cakewalk and immediately introduced her to sickbay life at its most chaotic. The mining planetoid of Debin VII had called on the Andaris Task Force to help assist with a plague that had broken out on the planet. When the Blackwell arrived, Anath was put on a team with Doctor Cook, Lieutenant Commander R’Ven, and Lieutenant Commander Shayne to go to the surface and develop a cure. She went into the mining facility with Commander Shayne to search for any useful materials. After being separated by a rockslide, she went through the facility on her own and acquired a blood sample from patient zero. With the materials gathered in the mines, Doctor Cook and Commander R’Ven were able to develop a cure. | |||

A cure has been discovered! With the team reunited at the research "tent", we can return to the Blackwell shortly. I've already sent along the formula for the cure so that sickbay can begin producing it. Hopefully this planet will never see another death from this plague once we're through distributing the cure. | A cure has been discovered! Sickbay operations today have been fairly light today. We were asked to perform a few unexpected tests, but for the most part we find ourselves waiting to get to work while also hoping our services won't be needed. What an interesting paradox... After I finish my study of the Valcarian endocrine system I plan to meet with Counselor Avran. | Sickbay operations today have been fairly light today. I don't know what's going on today, but I've been feeling rather tired all day. I hear we have some new crew members joining us, so that should be rather exciting when they first visit sickbay! I've also not yet found the time to write a letter home with the good news of my promotion. With the events in the minefield and leave on Oscion I've just been rather busy. I'm sure everyone back in Memphis will- no, T'Paal City. I don't know what happened there. I guess it's a sign that the time has come to have my tea and get to bed. | I don't know what's going on today, but I've been feeling rather tired all day. Sickbay operations are all normal, but Doctor Pond has been called away. I've been hearing about some disturbances on the lower decks, but nothing specific. Hopefully we won't have to (sudden pause) Oh, there's Doctor Lux now! I'll finish this log later. | Sickbay operations are all normal, but Doctor Pond has been called away. So, a telepathic disease of some kind is spreading throughout the ship, the ship has been crippled, Doctor Pond is gone, and we're still unsure what we're looking for. This would be difficult enough if I wasn't also feeling the effects of this aliment. Why, why is this happening? Where would we have even picked up this illness? Oscion? The civilian transport? I'm looking over the scans now, but struggling to find any physiological causes for this. I only hope that we don't find the cure too late. Not sure how I'm supposed to explain this at the staff briefing... | So, a telepathic disease of some kind is spreading throughout the ship, the ship has been crippled, Doctor Pond is gone, and we're still unsure what we're looking for. The crew is beginning to recover from the events of the past few days. I've been helping out as much as I can to distribute the cure, but I'm still recovering from the virus myself. I still have a burning sensation in my head, but it beats the alternative. Based on what Commander R'Ven said, I was rather close to the point of no return. I'll have to look over the results in greater detail once everything feels less fuzzy, but I have a feeling an analysis of this virus might make for a very interesting paper someday. | The crew is beginning to recover from the events of the past few days.
