Vald was born on Jupiter station where his father Jack Loman was stationed at the time. His father met his mother Sara while she was a server at a restaurant. As he aged, Vald would see many different places in Starfleet. His father would be stationed on the USS Titan, USS Carthage, as well as Starfleet Academy where he taught for the last five years of his career. Vald's father always wanted him to be a officer and not a enlisted man. So at the age of 17, Vald submitted his first application to Starfleet Academy. With his first application rejected because his exam scores were just to low he would study with his father to improve. Deep down inside he really did not want to be an officer but he wanted to make his father proud. Vald's whole life he would overhear his father tell his friends that his son was not going to be like him, he was going to be an officer in Starfleet. In Vald's mind, he seen his father as a truly honorable man and wanted to just enlist. Over the next six years, Vald would study and put forth so much effort into getting into Starfleet. Finally, after his rejection at the age 24, he felt it was time to accept and move on with his life. Vald enlisted and told his father that there was no way he would ever go to the academy now. It is clear that no matter how much I improve that I am not what the academy is looking for. At 24 Vald would start his training and at 25 he was assigned to (whichever post I end up at in the fleet).
