As with all Galaxy class starships, the USS Constitution is designed to undertake a wide variety of different missions. A formidable opponent in a space battle, a ship capable of deep space exploration, as well as having labs and sensors to perform science studies, a stocked sickbay and large cargo bay to act as a hospital ship in an emergency evacuation and conference room for diplomatic functions.
