Hey guys my name is Bill Helms, I live in Baton Rouge LA, I work at WVLA NBC 33 and WGMB FOX 44 along with our sub channel CW 21. I work in Master Control, that is part of the Engineering that branches over into production. Its a pretty cool job that I get to do a lot of neat stuff with. I have become to go to Mr. Fixit at the Station. | |||
Before my dutys at my Current Station I worked for WAFF NBC 48 in Huntsville Al, I started off in Production as a Camera man for the news then moved up to the Control room before moving to Master Control. I went to School for TV and Film Production and I have had the honor to teach classes at my college in that subject. | |||
In the USCG I was a Tactical Law Enforcement Officer, I also had duty's in Port Security and Marine Safety. I moved up the Chain making Lt. Commander, I had the honor of being the Chief of Staff to the 8th District in New Orleans and Project Manager for Orleans and Jefferson Parish Emergency Operation Centers (EOC). I also had the great honor to serve on the Commandants Staff. This also put me on the National Staff, I became the head of Protocol for Flags and Ceremony in the Public Affairs Department while serving on the National Staff. | |||
