While on a mission to the mirror universe with the Eagle Ben was kidnapped, and and his death was faked so the rebellion could use his engineering skills, after been trapped for three years Ben managed to escape back to the prime universe. Since his return and the after the months of debriefings (and not the fun kind.) Ben returned to work, he started as an instructor at Starfleet Academy but found the pace to slow. He then moved back into work with the SCE there he found the passion for the job that he lacked as an instructor. He was assigned to Utopia Planitia Shipyards before and opportunity came up to return to an active ship Ben jumped at the chance and was assigned back to the USS. Constitution-B. Where he took his old position as Chief Engineer coming almost full circle in his career.
