Latu Wright was born in the shadow of the great monument built in honor of the sacrifice the people of Gideon made in order to preserve their planet beginning in 2268, when hundreds of billions of his people willingly died in order to alleviate the strain placed on their overcrowded world. Though the plague ended just over a century ago, Latu was reminded of the event nearly every day of his young life. While his parents were content to benefit from this sacrifice, living a life of relative ease and luxury, Latu experienced a great desire to further himself and to do something grand in honor of the great sacrifice. | |||
