As one of the oldest and also least educated cadets in her year (and especially in her class), she was often ridiculed and sneered at by some of the other cadets, which naturally led to a series of violent encounters, where she easily prevailed. This almost led to her expulsion from the Academy, however her Diplomacy tutor - Ardus Brey, a Bolian - took pity on her.
