His father was one of nine children, with five sisters and three brothers and his grandfather was one of six children and the only son. His grandmother was quite the opposite and the only daughter of four children. His family (his female relatives in particular) form an affectionate, close knit cabal that is as nurturing as it is large. Zayar has many, many cousins and they live all over the New Algeria territory, though a few have gone off-world.
