Jerry was a loner, growing up without a father. Lived with family in mountainous region of Mt. Rainier, in Washington. Hunted for food at 10 years old, and helped to raise family. Left home at 16, joined the SFMC in El Toro, went through rigorous training for duo MOS, as sniper in recon, combat medic. Became instructor for both, finished high school & college while in Noncom Enlisted Academy. Eventually, discovered by Starfleet as son to Brig. Gen. put through OCS, and at age 22, Jerry entered Medical school, graduating at age 26, went on to complete internship, & residency. Then applied to Starfleet Academy, at the coaxing of Admiral T'ver, friend of Brig. Gen. Reid (deceased)took up mentor position with Jerry, and made the way through red tape for Jerry to attend Starfleet Academy. While in emergency medicine Jerry developed a care and love for others in his care leading him through medical school, and eventually Surgery. At the Starfleet Academy, Jerry enrolled in both Medicine as Major, and Aerospace as Minor, becoming an aviation flight Surgeon.
