Alvanian myths often portray the tricksters as the heroes, as they are not only one step ahead of the other characters within the narrative, they are also seen as more intelligent and cunning, not being bound by some stuffy code of honor or service to a higher power or concept such as justice. Alvanian parables teach young children to always be sly, cunning and duplicitous when needed in one's aggressive pursuit of self interest. As is in line with the rest of their psychology, those who are malevolent and seek to cause suffering in others are vilified, but so are those who are entirely selfless and go out of their way to do good. | |||
