Jorus grew up on the Ferengi ship, his uncle became his mentor teaching him the tricks of being a conman, some of the Ferengi's on board taught Jorus how to read using the rules of acquisition and his father taught him maths, science etc. When Jorus was eight his mother gave birth to Jorus' younger brother Senon, who became a friend to Jorus. Jorus taught Senon the things his uncle had taught him.
