After being released from prison Zinna instantly headed to StarFleet Academy to apply. She had made a promise to Fulian and she wanted to keep it so on 238308.10, Zinna was accepted and made a Cadet 4th Class. She chose to major in counseling thinking it would be the easiest course. Zinna excelled in Diplomacy but was extremely weak in Engineering. At one point in her cadet year she was nearly going to fail because of the Engineering courses and was considering dropping out. Most of her roommates didn't like to be near her because they knew she was a former convict and also a telepath, and those two things they did not trust together. Whenever something went missing they'd first look at Zinna and politely ask if she stole. Also, most of her classmates were severely younger than her, by about 180 years.
