The Selevians are devoted pantheists who believe in a serene natural order. They also believe that the creator of this order entrusted it's care to them and they are both it's chosen people and it's protectors. As such they go to great lengths to ensure that the beauty of nature is not spoiled in any way. This has resulted in all industrial complexes being built underground. In fact 3/4 of their population, those from the lower class also live underground.

They have a two tier society with the upper classes forming the ruling and educated elite. These people have the best of everything and own everything on the planet. Only members of this class have ever set foot off the planet and traveled to various Federation worlds. They also serve as officers in their military.

Music seems to be one of the most important aspects of their artistic expression. Huge musical numbers with lots of different types of musical instruments all working together to create dramatic, yet inspiring songs are the norm.
Selevian culture is highly dedicated to intellectual pursuits and they consider themselves above most other species culturally and scientifically. While Selevian culture is rich it is now constantly being undermined by the post-Federation government and the once proud and graceful Selevian people are on a slow ship to oblivion.

Dances are very intricate with numerous precises movements and have been designed to match the music they are performed with.
