	Dr. Ian Lane West, D.A.S. is an Astrobiologist and Science Officer on the [[USS Mercury]]. He currently is the lead Science Officer for Alpha Shift. He is also a member of the Deployable Operations Group known as (DOG) Ian is a Hazardous Materials expert for the [[Unity One Federation Strike Force\|Federation Strike Force]]. He is a Solo Operator on the Tango team stationed on the USS Mercury, Ian is required to attend two subspace meetings a week with his unit commander, Lt.
