Isa is the sixth daughter of an extremely wealth family with trade concerns throughout the Alpha Quadrant (Nolo Aerospace Industries). Despite leading a highly sheltered early life, Isa became an enthusiastic interstellar traveler at a young age. Before entering Starfleet she had visited hundreds of worlds, often using her family's influence to get into places others could not. Her travels left her with a feeling that the life of a businesswoman was simply not for her. She dropped out of university and applied to Starfleet Academy, against her family's wishes.
