*Tarkalian Flu (238809.15-2389003.25) Shortly after returning to the USS Independence-A from a Command Conference on Earth, Karynn collapsed.  She was taken to sickbay where tests were run.  At first the medical staff was concerned that it was a variant of the Reaper Plague they encountered on Billaire VI and she was placed in a quarantine.  After further testing they determined that it was Tarkalian flu, which also required a quarantine, and due to complications she was put in a medically induced coma.  Between time and the wonders of modern medicine, she was finally well enough to be woken up.  Despite her return to health (although it took much longer to recover fully), the medical staff were concerned about her being sent long-term into the frontier lands of the Ithassa Region, so she was reassigned to the USS Drake.
