Leo Graven Beaufytor is the product of a brief extra-marital encounter between a [[Pythron]] woman, Thera Datchet-Beaufytor (wife of a member of the Pythron military elite), and a gifted Byzallian technocrat, Mons Vor, that took place during a peace conference that was intended to unite the two planets after generations of hostility. When his father found out about his existence, Beaufytor was kidnapped from Pythro and taken to his father's compound on Byzatium to be trained as an officer and, covertly, as an assassin.
