((Time Index: Half an hour after the meeting.))

MacKenna: So, uh. ::She paused a second, collecting her thoughts.:: Well, the astrophysics and quantum mechanics labs are down that way. ::She pointed down the corridor.:: Then astrometrics is around that corner. ::She pointed next to her and a nearby bend in the walkway.:: And then stellar cartography backs up against that, but you’ve got to walk all the way around to get in.

Duyzer: ::trying to remember what she just said:: Okay- uhm... Thanks!

::It had only been two seconds and Pholin had already forgotten most of what she said; he would have to find all the labs on his own. It looked like MacKenna understood Pholin's confusion as she gave a reassuring smile.::

MacKenna: It’s alright, we’re all new here and are still finding our way around.

Duyzer: ::smiling:: I think I'll see this as my second home in no time.

::Thinking about it, Pholin realized the Columbia would be his fifth home.::

MacKenna: If you wanted to check in on astrophysics and quantum mechanics, then head up to deck 6, I can get the rest and deck 10. If you get lost, just ask the computer to help.

Duyzer: Will do, sir.

::The computer had helped him find Sickbay and the ready room before; he wouldn't know where he'd be without it.::

MacKenna: You can call if you run into trouble.

Duyzer: Thanks. ::he nodded to say goodbye::

::MacKenna smiled before Pholin left for his first stop: astrophysics. If he'd remembered correctly it was down the hallway. He left MacKenna and entered Astrophysics - thanks to the nice nameplate that said "Astrophysics Laboratory".::

::Inside he found a lab not quite different than the Astrophysics lab in Starfleet Academy: mainly a lot of screens and control panels. There was one big difference between the two, however: the lab on the Columbia had one table in the center of the room, where with one press of a button a hollographic representation of a star would pop up.::

::Pholin walked over to one of the side panels, where he initiated a level three diagnostic of the lab. Being a more passive diagnostic, Pholin could experiment with the room a little bit. He had specialized in Astronomics at the Academy, and had grown quite fond of the research in stellar phenomena.::

::Walking over to the main table in the room, he searched for his most beloved star system in the database: Denobula Triaxa. The system immediately began to form and the three stars were now right in front of him.::

::Unlike an Astrometics lab, here Pholin could see all the details and intricasies of the stars. He could clearly see the main Type F stars shining in a beautiful yellowish white, and the smaller star right in between, not much unlike Sol.::

::Looking down on the table itself, he could read all the data gathered since Denobula became a part of the Federation. He had learned a lot about how the three stars interacted with each other from the age of three, when he watched the children's cartoon - which roughly translates to - "The twins and his little brother". He would later learn in elementary school about gravity and how the stars were attracted to each other. Of course that was very funny to a bunch of six-year-olds. And in the Denobulan Science Academy he learned how to calculate Denobula's orbit around the three stars; he may or may not have forgotten that godforsaken formula.::

::The panel he had initiated the diagnostic from beeped to grab Pholin's attention, he had to fill in some data manually and then the computer spat back the results to him. All clear and performing optimally.::

Duyzer: oO One done, only so many left to go. Oo

::Although he had only done one lab so far, he was already exhausted. The last three days had really taken all the energy out of him. His final exams, the simulation on the Centris, his graduation party, and his time on the Columbia. And missing a night's sleep, because of the party, didn't really help either.::

((Timeskip: Two hours later, after testing all the labs he had to.)) ((Planetary Geosciences Laboratory - Deck 6, USS Columbia))

::The computer beeped crying for attention again.::

Duyzer: YES! I'm coming!

::After six labs, Pholin had his eyes barely open and was talking to the computer, mostly saying how dumb it was.::

Duyzer: I'm reading the data of YOUR screen! Can't you- ::yawn:: read the stuff yourself or something?

Computer: Please input requested data.

::He input the last data, and the computer once again said that everything was fine. He now only had to report to his senior officer and then he could go sleep, if he could find his quarters.::

Duyzer: =/\= Ensign Duyzer to Lieutenant Commander MacKenna. =/\=

MacKenna: ?

Duyzer: =/\= I finished testing all the laboratories. =/\=

::He walked out of the Planetary Geosciences lab and headed to the turbolift.::

MacKenna: ?

Duyzer: =/\= Nothing criticial, sir. However, I think I can upgrade the Quantum Mechanics lab to perform calculations- ::he yawned:: uhm... more quickly.::

MacKenna: ?

::He entered the turbolift, but didn't order the computer to leave yet.

Duyzer: =/\= I'm sorry, sir. It's just- ::he paused, contemplating if it was something he could say:: I haven't had much sleep lately. =/\=

MacKenna: ?

Duyzer: =/\= Thank you, sir. I don't require much sleep, so I'll be up and running in no time tomorrow! =/\=

Duyzer: Deck- uhm... Wait one second, Computer.

::He looked on his PADD to see again which quarters he was assigned to.::

Duyzer: Ah, there it is. Deck 5, if you'd like to, computer!

::Pholin began whistling his favorite song, a Vulcan song, called "Falor's Journey". Once the turbolift arrived on deck 5, he stepped out of it and started walking mindlessly. He only thought about the song and not really where he was going.::

::Surprisingly, he managed to find his quarters. He entered, not really looking at anything else but the beds. He took the bed that seemed like it hadn't been taken and fell asleep, still fully clothed.::
