First gen

The first generation (type A) of this rifle was met with a mixed response, a certain few ships in Starfleet were outfitted with the Type A prototypes, after a multitude of non lethal accidents, the weapon has a build in safety that when activated unleashes a neutralizing electrical shock that can cause fainting, over the accidental self destruction. Ensign Wallace Williams met this neutralizing electrical shock while test firing a one of the rifles. The Rifles have after multiple accidents been recalled and retrofitted, a few faults in production were rectified and the Second Generation is currently being deployed in field.

Second Gen

The Type B is being met with better response fleet wide, already it has seen multiple actions with marines and anti piracy operations, It is said the Rifle will soon be available fleet wide.

The zoom sights

Benefitting from years of experience in Tactical optics, the Mark 93 has the ability to change not only optic zoom ( 2x,4x,6x) by the push of a button, it can also change between Holographic, Infra Red and Metallic views, Allowing for tactical solutions on all fields, in all conditions, and all ranges, The Rifle's ability to zoom in on a moderate distance allows the rifle to be used in a Marksman's role as well.
