During her year as a freshman at the Academy, she somehow ended up getting very interested in psychology, and ended up on a track to become a counselor. She was assigned as an engineering officer aboard the ''USS Columbia'', which she is comfortable with, as her mother was an engineer and she still is competent at the field.
