• 2359: Born on DS4 on Stardate 235907.19
• 2368: Lost his father in an accident
• 2369: Moved to Betazed with his mother
• 2373: Finished primary studies and started secondary still on Betazed.

Marcus Dickens was born in DS4 where their parents moved after their marriage. His father, Sheldar Dickens, was one of the Angosian modified soldiers of the Tarsian wars, that having no one waiting him in Angosia, went to live with Marthia Collidan, the Counselour of Starship USS Tarradellas that went to Angosia to look the advances in the integration of the soldiers after the riot that the Enterprise-D achieved to stop.

Sheldar found himself treated with respect and no fear by Marthia and both became in love in a few weeks. The wish of Sheldar to leave a planet that didn't trust him and their mutual feelings made him request the captain of the Tarradellas to leave Angosia with them and Marthia interceded for him with the result of the addition of Sheldar to the ship. In a year both married and have Marcus while on DS4 where Marthia requested the transfer.

Few years later, Sheldar was working as enlisted on the starbase and went to help a ship badly damaged due a space distortion and having problems to arrive DS4 and was radiation poisoned when suddenly a plasma burst broke a recipient with a material that reacted with the plasma and emmited a lethal radiation. The treatments didn't made effect and Sheldar died despite his capability to resist more radiation as the level he get was eight time the lethal dosis for a human.

Marcus and Marthia moved to Betazed to have more peace and there Marcus was teached about the betazoid abilities that he seemed to start experiencing. He didn't mastered the powers as the other betazoids, but his potential still has to be known as well as his DNA will develop the traits of his father. Meanwhile he finished his primary and secondary studies on Betazed and became more interested in sciences, but found that his father heritage called him to leave a peaceful place like Betazed and that the Starfleet was a unique oportunity to learn more about universe. After a few months of dicussion with his mother that wished Marcus to be safe of what happened to his father, he applied to the Starfleet academy.

Timeline

He proved to be able to pass the years, having very good scores on sciences, biological and others, but found difficult history and legislation. He did some physical competitions, winning no one, but being at top of them. Marcus managed to finish his studies and finished his academy years, passing the last exam with Commander Greene and Lt. Cmder. Torin Jamar.

He's posted to the new USS ATLANTIS, Intrepid class. After a few missions on this ship, including the first real charting of space behind the Jenatris cloud, Atlantis was called back to DS17 after a diplomatic crisis and he's transferred to the USS COLUMBIA under command of Captain Mal Avatar.

On his first mission on the Columbia they undergo a diplomatic mission with a species named Deloreans, a reptilian species. After some problems involving the kidnap of the captain and others, and facing a civil war, they finally managed to exit there without compromising the Federation in the war. Dickens helped in discovering a romulan cloaked ship that was behind the war in an attempt to get Delorea in the empire and have a post inside Federation space. On Delorea they find a device, not from the planet that, after asking Delorea government, they get to study.

  The studies on the data they sent to R&D of the Federation they used it to try a new 

propulsion system that will send them very far away in a few minutes, many times more faster than warp drive. However a problem with the device during the experiment send the to a unknown planet where they survived, finding a complex. After trying to use it to cover from strong lightnings from outside Dickens found himself possessed by a strange entity, a conscience of one alien named Kelrod and later by Tantalus, leader and self claimed emperor of Ambrosia.

  However after discovering the Columbia wasn't destroyed, the crew managed to beam aboard with the help of the exo-comps and there Tantalus tried to take Puhvai, a native of the planet, for his plans but commander Moranta and Ramirez frustrated the plan and eliminated Tantalus with a Device taken from Ambrosia. Then they're assigned to SB118, Marcus taking the HCO post. 

  There they've to face with a murder almost the same day they took charge of the station 

after it's recovery from the Romulans and he was able to pilot the USS ARROW in a mission to explore an strage asteroid travelling at warp. After managing to enter it's warp shell and discovering that the asteroid was mostly artificial and with a Genesis device inside, they achieved to stop the asteroid in a safe place and return to SB118 where he received another transfer, this time to the Independence. Unfortunately when they were tranfered the Independece was already destroyed by the Gorn in the Itahassa region, so he served on DS 17 until the arrival of the USS INDEPENDENCE-A, Prometheus class under command of Rear Admiral Jessa Anassasi.
