"We are the lost, scattered to the corners of the universe."
a Lenarian greeting.
The Lenarians are a species that destroyed their own homeworld and are now widely scattered across both the Alpha and Beta quadrants. They find work where they can, often relegated to menial professions, working as miners in colonies or other dangerous, low paying jobs.

History

Very few records of any kind have survived from their pre-exodus homeworld. What few records do exist seem to confirm that they destroyed their homeworld. That it became so polluted that their only hope for survival was to leave.

How and when this occurred has become lost as is so many other aspects of their history, culture, society and beliefs. In their massed exodus from their polluted home-world they lost all most all of the records of their pre-exodus times including the co-ordinates of their home-world. All that has survived are isolated stories and legends.

Since then they have become extremely widely scattered across both the Alpha and Beta quadrants. Evidence has shown that members of their species have been found living within the Romulan, Klingon, Cardassian, Breen and numerous other political powers areas of control. Many experts believe that members of their species could and may be found living even outside of these known regions of space.

In 2369, a group of Lenarians attacked a delegation from the USS Enterprise-D before a diplomatic conference, almost killing Captain Jean-Luc Picard with a compressed teryon beam.

Government

They have no surviving government of their own although a rare few have managed to establish themselves as important members of various colonies. Some even becoming part of the local government.

Description

They have dark skin, almost black with wide spaced eyes and a tall thin ridge that starts at their chin and runs up over the top of their head to end at the base of their skull. This ridge is tallest on the top of their head, being on average between 5 to 10 inches.

For the most part the males tend to be larger than the females, being between 5’10” and 6’4” with solid muscles and stocky frames. The females are on average between 5’8” and 6’ with slimmer, less muscular body shapes.

Physiology

As with most intelligent humanoid species they have a very complex system with specialized organs, and unique hormones, chemicals and enzymes. They are typical humanoids with most of the physical, mental and biological medical problems that seem to plague most humanoids.

Psychology

Most of them tend to be practical, maybe even fatalistic, willing to accept whatever fate and the universe seems willing to throw their way.

Religion

Over time most and in most cases all of their original type or style of religious beliefs have been lost. Now they are either agnostic or have adopted the beliefs of those that they now life and work among. Now these original beliefs have for the most part been lost.

Mythology

As with so many other aspects of their society they have lost most of the records, data and all that has survived are isolated stories and legends. Even those have become twisted and altered with time so that many experts believe that even they do not reflect any aspect of their true original form.

Society

As with so many other aspects of their society they have lost most and often all of the little details that would have made their society unique. Now they have adapted and in many cases assimilating the various aspects of other species society as needed. Usually based on widely ranging environmental and social reasons.

Regardless they most often occupy the lowest level of those alien societies that they find themselves living amongst. This often results in them being able to only find employment in menial and often dangerous or degrading professions. This includes such things as mining, sanitation and other less appealing occupations.

Culture

As with so many other aspects of their society they have lost most and often all of the little details that would have made their culture unique. Now they have adapted and in many cases assimilating the various aspects of other species cultures as needed. Usually based on widely ranging environmental and social reasons.

Customs

As with so many other aspects of their society they have lost most and often all of the little details that would have made their customs unique. Now they have adapted and in many cases assimilating the various aspects of other species culstoms as needed. Usually based on widely ranging environmental and social reasons.

Technology

They use whatever technology is available to them, often older, worn out or out dated tech as most of them live in colonies, mining communities, asteroid mining facilities or on worlds without dated technology that still has use for and a need of physical labor.

Economy

They have no economy of their own and rely on the resources available to them with in the various colonies, mining facilities and other outposts that have offered them jobs, employment and a possible temporary home.

Military

They have no military of their own, no ships, no stations and no troops. What few members of their species that do manage to find jobs in these fields do so working for other species and other governments. This includes working for various member worlds in the Federation, joining Starfleet and the Marines.

Compressed Teryon Beam

This unusual energy beam weapon seems to be one of the extremely rare and unique things that they have managed to retain from their original homeworld over the years. No other species uses a weapon quite like it. It is fairly easy to build and maintain and while it is nowhere near as effective as a phasor, disruptor or most other energy weapons it can still be very deadly.

The Lenarians used a compressed teryon beam weapon to attack Captain Jean-Luc Picard in 2369 outside of a conference he and the away team were attending. The weapon fused the bio-regulators in his artificial heart, threatening his life.

Federation Intelligence Files

Numerous experts have tried to identify the location of their original homeworld but so far with no luck.
