Personal History

Kivith was born on Earth to prestigious scientists. Their coupling was more hormone and intoxication-driven than romantic interest. Bethany-Anne, a fiery red-haired woman from North America's deep south, convinced Kravik that, since she was carrying the baby for the first 9 months, he should take care of it for the next 9. Logically, he couldn't dispute her reasoning, assuming that meant the two would share custody on a rotating nine-month basis. On Kivith's first birthday, Bethany-Anne took a classified deep-space posting, accepting a consulting role within Starfleet. She left and cut off all communication with Kravik and her daughter. Kravik was not amused, but he took sole custody of the child and once he returned to his home planet, he raised her in the Vulcan fashion—distantly and logically. Kravik was displeased that his daughter joined Starfleet rather than the Science Academy, though he conceded that the choice was hers. Kivith herself is unsure why she made the decision, and telling her father that “it felt like the right thing to do” was not something he appreciated hearing. Since joining Starfleet, relations between father and daughter have not been close. Kivith has never met her mother, nor does she wish to.

Like all children, Kivith had her strengths and weaknesses scholastically and physically. Her logic was considered sub-par, and there were signs of her inherited Irish temper more often than was generally acceptable. Due to many playground and university yard fights, she became above average in hand-to-hand combat. She also trained with the lirpa, a traditional Vulcan polearm. She entered tournaments and placed well, however she never reached the top position due to her tendency to lose her cool.

Professional History

Kivith was adept at solving puzzles, leading her to do well in science and mathematics. Within the science field, she grew interested and specialized in stellar phenomenon, like planetary bodies and nebulae. She learned to be a slightly above average engineer, though her ability in that field was largely training and practice-based, rather than instinctual. After a chance encounter with Commander Data, she took an interest in positronic brains, and humanoid-like robotics, leading her to do some rudimentary android construction in her spare time. During the year of her cadet cruise, she finished NM156, a human android male. He is approximately one meter tall, and by Kivith's admission, “not a very good specimen.” However, Kivith continues to work on broadening his programming, and using NM156 as her personal cleaning entity.
