He is introverted, and has a lack of social abilities, mainly because he loves speaking about mathematics or physics and that makes other people reticent to speaking to him. He often feels frustrated when someone doesn't seem to be able to follow his reasoning, but he accepts that he would not be able to follow conversation about earth politics, so he accepts that everyone has his own field of excellence. He is an expert programmer, and has his own, modified, tricorder, which he prefers to use better than the regular one, always with the permission of the CO.
