On 239608.21 at an awards ceremony on Lightside Station (aka The Spike) Irina was badly injured when a bombing caused an upper level walkway to collapse, with Irina directly below it and using her body to shield two other officers from more serious injury. Irina was horrifically injured including most of the left side of her body being essentially crushed. It was only her extremely dense bone and muscle caused by her time on Kjenta II that prevented the incident from being immediately fatal.
