Personal History

Hayase was the middle of three daughters born to a union between Betazed Federation Diplomat Loren Hay and Sendara - a former officer of the Romulan Tal Shiar. Loren was stationed on Romulus as a diplomat for the Federation. Sendara was the intelligence officer who was spying on the activities of Loren Hay for the Romulan Government. One thing led to another, and an eventual confrontation between the telepathic Betazed Hay and Sendara led to an eccentric romance.

The two married a week later and under the cover of diplomatic immunity left Romulus for Betazed. Upon his arrival, Loren Hay attempted to resign from the diplomatic corps only to be called back several years later.

Hayase was initially named Seera Hay but felt more drawn towards the tradition of her mother's race and rechristened herself "Hayase" after a Romulan cultivation song. She has a deep mistrust of anything Vulcan - this is in part due to her mother being Romulan and descended from the S'Task - one of the main founders of the Romulan religion. The direct decendants of S'Task were able to keep a degree of their telepathic abilities unlike the the majority of Romulans. She has the eyes and eyebrows of a Romulan but not the ears and looks more like a Betazed Female.

Professional History

Hayase cheated not once, but twice in the academy to get through. She did so, not because she was criminal in anyway, but to prove that it could be done, not once, but twice.

She served on the Titan as Tactical Officer. She had to be put on LOA after sufferring a serious mental breakdown after being used as a source of nourishment for a Spider-Queen and her millions of babies. After a failed attempt at trying to seduce Lt. T'Preen and setting fire to Ten-Forward, she was then placed in the Starbase 118 Home for the Traumatized and nearly insane.

After being discharged she joined the Betazed Judicial Services and served as a judge before rejoining Starfleet. In between this she married a gorn named Ricknawr who sold rare animals while vacationing in Bajor. They recently divorced after she participated in the Federation/Gorn war as a member of the USS Independence.

She is currently a Tactical Officer on the Independence.
