Biography
Ethan was born and raised in his home city of Manchester, England in the Sol System. Although he wasn't a spoilt child, he had a good childhood. With his mother as a Doctor and his father as his Headmaster, he couldn't get away with anything. While in school at the age of 13, he was involved in a fight with an older student and broke his arm. Ethan's intelligence didn't appear until his later years in school, about the age of 10.
His Grandfather was a major influence in Ethan's decision to join Starfleet, being a retired Engineer. His Grandfather was not a Starfleet Officer, but a Shipbuilder who worked with Warp Cores and Computer Technology. All the stories that he used to tell had Ethan captivated and, as a result, he developed a knack for technology himself. After leaving high school, he enrolled at the British Engineering School, a school run by the Starfleet Corps of Engineers, where he obtained several qualifications in Civil Engineering.
He applied for Starfleet Academy shortly before his 19th Birthday and was enrolled a month later. As well as enjoying recreational sports, he developed a liking for Piloting and Shuttlecraft Engineering. He worked along side the Academy's amateur engineers to design and create mediocre crafts that would be able to sustain space flight. In particular, he designed schematics for the Providence, a Type-9 shuttle that he built with his team.
After his initial tour of duty on board the USS Independence under the Engineering guidance of Idril Mar, Ethan took his career in a different direction and took a role at the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards above Mars. This helped him develop his love for creating and inventing more, working on projects such as different warp coil composites and M/ARA chambers.
When Commander Mar was beginning to take her own command, Ethan jumped back on board to become her Chief Engineer on the USS Ronin, an Akira Class starship retired from the Dominion Wars. He has not regretted the move, which included bringing his own Assistant in Engineering and meeting up with his estranged partner and his new son, Matthew.
Personality
On first impressions, Ethan is friendly and welcoming. Topped off with a good sense of humor, gives the man an outgoing nature, although his jokes can be sometimes quite awful. He shows that he is quite intelligent, having passed Engineering at the Cochrane Academy, obtaining that ever important certificate in his quarters. He can be stubborn when it comes to the view of his superiors, though this of late has been sanded down. He has become more non-committal and docile, accepting whatever comes. He claims to be an untidy individual but never unorganized, as he takes great pride in his work and his uniform. When he is nervous, he has a tendency to rub his left shoulder or hold it with his right hand. When presented with a task, he hums, sings or whistles as he concentrates; a trait he claims to have picked up from his Grandfather. He seems to accept life the way it is and lives each day as it comes forward, preferring not to dwell on the past for too long. He is hardly seen without a smile on his face.

- Kathlyn and Ethan were together during their Cadetship at Starfleet Academy. They still keep in contact and Ethan is the Godfather to Kathlyn's son, Kyle. During Ethan's LOA, he travelled back to Earth to stay with Kathlyn while he got his transfer to the Utopia Planitia Shipyards.
- Rebecca Hollendale
- Rebecca Hollendale and Ethan met on the Independence and after a whirlwind romance, full of happiness and arguments, they managed to create a son. Rebecca is still the main woman in Ethan's life, although apart, he does still love her and care for her.
