Stella's family is one of those of her species that found their way and settled on Earth. As El-Aurians, her parents were expected to be good listeners though neither of them wanted anything to do with hearing others problems. Finding a secluded area in the woods of New Jersey they built a house and started a small farm. The only child of the family, Stella was always busy having no time for much fun or games. As she grew older, the thoughts of leaving such a busy and dull life invaded her dreams at night. | |||
Her parents did not take well the news of Stella applying for Starfleet Academy and were able to get her removed soon after. This caused a great rift between her and her parents, that is still on going. Stella kept a low profile after that, re-applying again the next year without them knowing as well as renting an apartment at the time. | |||
When choosing her area of study, many of her teachers pushed her to go for Counselor but Stella had no want to be one. Instead, she took courses in Helm and Ops thinking that would be more exciting. She heard stories later in her training how boring it was, but there was one teacher, Professor Natel, who gave her the courage to keep on going. | |||
