History
The inhabitants of the Camar system were first encountered when a science vessel from Starbase 185 detected a warp signature eminating from Camar Prime in 2369. Arrangements for first contact were made nearly immediately, the the Camarians became junior members of the Federation mere months later.

Description
A Humanoid race with pale green skin and fish-like features (gills, scales, fin remnants) but able to breathe M-Class atmospheres. They have no hair, with eyes large and protruding, much like many aquatic life.

Camarians evolved from aquatic life due to Camar Prime's being a near-water planet - as such, they developed a network of underwater habitats to grow.

The USS Ronin was invited as the Starfleet representation in 2388 to witness a solar erruption known by the Camarians as the Prominence of Peace. Believing the opportunity for gain scientific data, strengthen diplomatic ties with the Camarians, as well as cement a relationship built with the Cardassian Union, the Ronin willingly participated in an officer exchange, bringing Gil Alon Brokar aboard into the ship's science department for the event. However, the sun goes supernova beyond the Camarian's observatory can handle, throwing off high amounts of radiation and causing significant damage to the Akira class vessel.
