The USS Gorkon helped the colonists of Darime IV. It’s a well-established Pelian colony on a garden world, which took in a sizable number of Romulan refugees after the Hobus Disaster. Deployed to the surface of the planet, the teams were ready for anything. Poised, prepared, and possessed by a sense of urgency given their tasks at hand.

A dig into the archaeological mystery led by Quinn Reynolds established the outbreak of sickness on the colony, with those working on the excavation site as Patient Zeros. Taking necessary precautions in their assessments, the three officers comprising the Admiral, Corliss Fortune, and the newly appointed science chief Alieth, heading into the ruins to make their assessments. They explored the Pelian archaeology site identified as the source of the outbreak. After working their way through some of the buildings, they discovered a secret passage leading underground. Their decision to investigate it became a forced one after coming under attack from what seemed to be Romulans, pushed underground by the collapse of the building. At the base of the stairs, they discovered a room containing three statues/structures, and their investigation led to Reynolds becoming trapped in some kind of force field, nature unknown.

The team's attempts to free her from the field led to them being knocked unconscious and transported to another location. The facility seems to be uninhabited and running on automated systems, and the team were ferried from their transport site into a decontamination room. From there, they discovered a vast chamber filled with stasis spheres, one of which is occupied by a Pelian woman who has multiple additional organs. Nearby personal belongings suggest it may be the missing Sylan.

Further exploration the underground ruins, Rear Admiral Quinn Reynolds, Lieutenants Alieth and Corliss Fortune discovered several pods containing strange liquids, with samples of the virus affecting the Pelian inside. In one of the stasis spheres they discovered the missing Sylan, still alive, but who had undergone several genetic modifications, such as the duplication of several organs. With her body under stress due to these procedures, but sedated and stable, the group decided to leave the Pelian there, along with Alieth's combadge, to be rescued later, once they had secured a way out of the ruins.

They advanced carefully, finding more spheres from one of which they were able to extract a base of the disease afflicting the natives in a tempered form, which could be used to create a cure and a vaccine. With this data well in hand, the group set out on their way in search of a way out, with the proper precautions to be taken given that there were signs that they were not alone in those ruins, or at least that someone had been there shortly before them.

Eventually, they found a cave-in in one of the more distant sections of the science complex which, ascending, led them to the hospital where their comrades were located. The two teams quickly caught up and set to work on a cure for the Pelian disease.

The Gorkon picked up garbled distress signals from the Triumphant with their last known location attached, located deep within a subspace bubble—possibly a Tyken's Rift. Sensors and communications were reduced to a mess of echoes, and their power and drives are affected by the environment swirling around them.
In this dire situation, aboard the USS Kahnrah, Alieth, Orson Marshall, Lephi and Stoyer headed into the Rift, able to reach further with short-range scans and minimal sensor ghosts looking for the missing class Defiant. Their search pattern took them through the deepening Rift, widening out into a chasm-like region, where space itself appeared to disappear. A particularly challenging situation for the Vulcan, as this was only the second mission she had commanded in her career.
Following a path of broken scape pods and energy fluctuations, with the runabout power draining fast, they reached the Triumphant and Sasu Gol, an umbilical connecting the two vessels. With enough time to get a preliminary scan of the Triumphant completed, the team had to abort. Significant power issues and subsystem casualties made for a frosty ride back to the Gorkon but armed with the coordinates for the two vessels.
Alieth, Orson Marshall and Stoyer beamed to the Sasu Gol with the intention of finding any survivors, locating any Triumphant crew aboard, and discovering any information on what happened. Their initial search for survivors was unsuccessful, and with the ship so low on power the corridors were frozen, they were forced to take the maintenance shafts and ladders to move between decks.
The team experienced vivid hallucinations during the climb, and were barred from further progress when an unknown someone sealed the hatch above them. Forced to take a detour, they discovered evidence of a human recently passing through the area, and a trail of Vulcanoid blood leading out of sickbay. Inside, they discovered signs of violence in the form of more blood on a biobed.
Exploring the adjacent room, they discovered spiralled artwork on the walls (the work of Aliman Vry) and were surprised by the sudden appearance of Jymak and Diinr, doctor and nurse. Unfortunately, due to the spiralling power loss aboard the Gorkon, they could not immediately transport them away. While the Starfleet officers discussed the best way forward, Jymak stole a phaser and took his own life.
Returning to sickbay, and met with the sound of screaming, Diir described the crew’s descent into madness and terror. Shortly afterwards, the team were attacked, much to Diir’s apparent delight, and he offered/sacrificed himself to the darkness. Shaken, the team decided their best course of action was to head for engineering and disconnect the umbilical to the Triumphant, then head to the shuttlebay to get off the ship, and hopefully find any survivors along the way.
After fleeing the madness unleashed by Diir, the team arrived at Engineering, finding it riddled with homemade traps that prevented them from easily reaching the warp core. As they carefully made their way towards it, they encountered the missing members of the Triumphant away team: Commander Jal Desoa and Lieutenant Petra Bjarnadottir.
After some initial tensions, they teamed up to separate the umbilical and allow the triumphant to escape or be towed out of the Rift. No sooner had they accomplished their goal, however, the group was attacked by the mass of shadow that Diir had joined.
The creature managed to trap both Alieth and Petra Bjarnadottir and, while Commander Jal Desoa managed to wrench the latter from the creature's arms, Lieutenant Cory Stoyer failed to restrain the Vulcan, who was apparently consumed by the creature.
After a few minutes of doubt and confusion, the team discovered that Alieth's combadge was still reactive, locating her in the Freighter's cargo bay. They went there not only to find the Vulcan visibly agitated, but there was an unearthly sound coming from a strangely crafted artefact, which seemed to be summoning the Rift creatures around them.
Losing her temper and driven mad by the experience and the disturbing sound, Alieth set out to destroy the device, and Cory Stoyer's attempts to stop her only served to further enrage the Vulcan, who lashed out, injuring him badly.
After that unfortunate encounter, the lieutenant destroyed the device, but the subsequent explosion caused one of the fragments to severely injure Desoa, endangering his life. Despite desperate attempts to keep him breathing, Desoa's health deteriorated dramatically, and he confessed that he and the Tyrellians knew of the creatures, calling them "Taniwha", and devoted some intense words to Petra Bjarnadottir, of a much more personal nature. Before she could elaborate much more on the matter, Lieutenant Commander Caedan Nkai confirmed that the Gorkon had regained power and the use of the transporters, and transported the group directly to the Sickbay, but not before Alieth retrieved a fragment of the wrecked device.
Once there, the Vulcan hijacked an operating theatre to tend to Desoa while the rest of the group remained behind to catch up on more personal matters.
* Rogue World - Stardate 239908.15 to Present
When a strange alien world appeared over the Tyrellian system and created havoc, Alieth was tasked with organising the scientific efforts to maximise the use of the starship's resources and prioritise bridge duties. However, that task came to an end when the USS Kerla was attacked on its way to the surface and the Vulcan and Lena Josett made their way to the site to search for the team that had travelled to investigate the signal from an old Starfleet beacon dating back to the Dominion War.
There they discovered that the Kerla crew had been "rescued" by the former Starfleet and Dominion-Cardassian population, who had long abandoned their war to live and have families together. After learning a little about the villagers and their struggles, a chroniton wave erupted from nearby caves and forced the team to flee from the Jem’Hadar emerging from it. A young woman born on the planet guided their flight, directing them across floating islands, through a forest which responded and attacked some of their pursuers, and into caverns near the remains of a battlefield.
With only one way forward, they ventured deeper into the caves. Deep underground, they entered a massive cavern and discovered an equally massive and ancient tree, clearly dying. Investigating, they found someone had taken samples from its trunk and roots, some leaking a viscous, blue fluid. Orson and Alieth came into contact with the fluid, the tree revealed a man in its heart, connected through vines in a symbiotic relationship. Their guide’s father, supposedly dead five years ago. When Alieth felt impelled to take the place of the Man, Commander Verne, in the tree, the tree triggered its defensive mechanisms and attacked them violently. Their guide begged her father to stop, the attacked ceased, and the tree released him. Without its life support, he crumbled to dust in her hands. The tree showed them a vision of the past; Jem’Hadar troops stealing samples to replace their Ketracel White reserves, and coming under attack from their Changeling leader... who had taken the form of their guide.
After the initial shock and distruss, the changeling explained that she, like the Cardassians and the Jem'Hadar, had also been stranded on the planet during the War and that she had had to wipe out her troops to avoid the slow death that the absence of Ketracel would bring. Later, she had infiltrated the mixed village and had come to love the place... and the man who occupied the tree. So much so, in fact, that they had had a daughter who had not survived long enough, given her hybrid nature. Before this happened Verne had sought every possible way to cure the child and, remembering his partner's words about the tree had descended there in an attempt to bring the planet back to the Federation where they could cure her and where her crew would be safe. Now she would take Verne's place and keep the tree, and the machinery that maintained and moved the world, going, giving Alieth and her companions a chance to save themselves and their people. Alieth remained behind a little more just to be sure the Changelling had nice dreams, in an attempt to compensate for her guilt over Verne's death and to ensure that she could control the planetary machine as it proved linked with dream neuronal patterns.
They rushed out of there only to watch as the ground rocks mutated and let loose a powerful tetryon beam into the sky, to split into the atmosphere and begin the leap. With barely time to get back to the settlement, the group split up to save as many people as possible, with Lena and Orson rescuing a Cardassian child and Alieth and Corliss, along with the help of a newly arrived Ensign, Doz Finch set out to find the rest of the refugees. Thanks to the USS Azetbur's sensors that the ensign had brought and Corliss' telepathic abilities, they discovered that they had taken refuge in a structure under the lake that bordered the village.
