Wow. Where do I start?
Shall we start with the short list? Let me see... Ship boarded by mechanical people who hold Engineering hostage until the boss managed to get them to back off a bit.
Notice I said "back off", not "go away". They wanted the scientists, but Assanti was not going to give them that... Still, they didn't need to know that right away, so we got a nice bunch of guests who spent their time following people around. Very distracting...
Anyway. On to the really interesting bit. Tash isn't dead. Yeah, yeah, I know there was that whole eulogy thing after he got shot in the chest, but that's all kind of irrelevant now. Seems the nanites Jarak put in him to help with his addiction decided to go a little further in their repairs.
So, now we have a Second Officer who's back from the dead. I'm going to go see him later. Even if he doesn't want to talk about it, I think he could use the company.
Back to the plot. We ended up picking up a Darian pilot once we got into the nebula. Talked to him a bit, he seemed a nice guy. Sadly, didn't have that much time to chat with him, 'cause things got a lot more hectic soon after that.
Seems a couple of the Caronians - that's the metal people - who were hanging about in Engineering seem to have gotten into a bit of an argument. Now, by argument, I don't mean words were exchanged. I mean shots were. One of them killed the other, over I don't know what. Maybe Locke could shed a little light on that for me, he was nearby. I need to have a chat with him fairly soon anyway...
The Darians. We found them. Well, they found us, actually. I've never seen a ship that big. Frak, I've never even heard of one. I don't know how many times bigger than us it was, but it was plenty many.
Things got a little tense for a while. Even by the standards of the last few days. The Captain beamed over to see them in person. I'm not sure that was such a good plan, but it seems to have worked out okay.
They let us go without a fight, which is good. I'm not sure what they're going to do with the warning we came to deliver, but that's not our problem.
Okay, that sounded a little harsh. True though. I get the feeling that it took some fast talking from the boss to stop them taking us out as a security risk.
Still... It's done. We're going home. Well, the the Starbase. You know what I mean. Apparently we've got a little shore leave coming, and there's a chance we may be adding families to the roster. It'll be nice to have them here, they soften the edges a bit, but I'm not so sure about how safe it'll be for them...
