A species of highly intelligent non-corporeal beings; whose sensory systems differ radically from humanoid sensory systems, which makes the Medusans particularly well suited for space travel. While non-corporeal, Medusans still have a physical form, which when viewed by humanoids, is said to be so ugly, that it will cause madness unless that humanoid has the protection of a visor. Only some races such as Vulcans can view them with special protective optic visors. As long as Medusans are kept in special shielded containers, they can coexist with humanoids. For those with telepathic capabilities, the ordered Medusan mind is said to be remarkably beautiful.
