- 238011.06: Rory was born during a violent storm at his parents home on the Isle of Skye, Scotland, Earth. His mother says that if any gods existed they had surely come to witness his birth, she likes to tell the story often and Rory isn't even sure there was an actual storm that night. His father says it was raining.
- 239503.08: Rory spends much of his summer working on the herb garden with his mother and the new girl that recently moved to Earth, Alexandra Wilson, known as Lexie. The herb garden would go on to win its category at the local competition but more than that he would also fall in love with Lexie that night.
- 239702.15: Rory's grandparents die (on his fathers side) in a shuttle accident on a distant frontier colony. He had only met them once in person, however they communicated extensively via subspace and he got a desire to explore the universe from his grandmother, who was a retired archaelogist. This event led him to submit his application to join Starfleet.
- 239809.01: Rory leaves his family home to move to San Francisco to begin his life at the academy. Although sad to be leaving his parents behind, he knows they are only an interplanetary transport away.

Backstory/Timeline
Rory was born to a very loving and supportive family, who are a popular member of an island community on Earth. He is incredibly close to his mother, and his sister. They cna be fiercely protective and for that reason they have never ventured to far from Earth even though his father was born and raised in a distant frontier colony.
Whne he visited his grandparents on a space trip that took several weeks, he became increasingly obsessed with space travel and the wonders that it could hold. His grandmother, a retired archaeologist who had travelled all over the quadrants filled his head with tales of adventure and intrigue. She had told him that if she was to do it all again, she would join Starfleet as it's the best way to see the galaxy.
When he was 14, Alexandra Wilson AKA Lexie moved to their community on Earth with her family. He was instantly smitten after his mother and Lexie's teacher, suggested that she assist them on entering a gardening competition for extra credits, to make up for work that she had missed.
They would win their category and he would fall in love with Lexie Wilson from then onwards. Yet it would take several more years until they get together while both at the academy.
The most defininig moment of his life came when his beloved grandparents died, which then spurred him to join Starfleet.
