FAMILY HISTORY
Colt Daniels is the son of two Terraformers, Claire and Ryan Daniels. Colt's parents traveled from planet to planet setting up long-term terraforming operations, taking Colt with them to each location. Because of this Colt grew up on some of the most desolate and inhospitable worlds in the galaxy, the tough but honest work his parents did instilled in him a strong can-do attitude. Claire and Ryan Daniels originally hailed from Texas, Earth and Daniels still has distant relatives there. Colt's childhood was lonely and he made few friends due to being basically isolated, his parents did their best to help him adjust but his social skills are lacking in a few areas and Daniels often has trouble making and keeping friends.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
As Daniels Tired of the monotonous life that Terraforming entails he longed to strike out on his own and find a place for himself in the galaxy. When Colt came of age he jumped the first ship that came to port and eventually after proving himself to the crew signed on with the ships security team. The ship was the "The Breadwinner" and on it he traveled the galaxy for a few years. He found the spacefaring life to be enjoyable and learned to trust both his instincts and his abilities with a phaser. "The Breadwinner" often visited some of the shadiest and rough ports in the galaxy. Being young and naive, Daniels relished the adventure and the danger of it all and didn't realize the implications. More than once was the crew involved in bar room brawls in seedy locations, with Daniels often in the thick of it, trying to sort things out and get the crew safely back on board the ship. Eventually after coming across documents he was never supposed to see, Daniels discovered that his Captain had been transporting illicit cargo INCLUDING slaves throughout the galaxy. Daniels deserted at the very next port they came to, taking with him nothing but a few credits and practical experience that would someday come in handy. Unsure of what to do next and unable to locate his parents he decided to make his way back to Earth, where he knew he had distant relatives. Planetbound life soon wasn't enough for Daniels, and he found himself yearning to be back in space, hearing the hum of a starship's engines.Daniels desire for space travel was tempered by his guilt at being a party to the illegal activity of his previous Captain. It was at this point when he decided to enter Starfleet Academy, hoping to be able to right his wrongs and maybe someday make a name for himself. Daniels took to Starfleet Academy well and he truly enjoyed his time there. He took the opportunity to take as many extra courses as he could taking classes year-round. This was largely a result of the fact that he hadn't decided on a duty post yet. He graduated from the Academy with a substantial amount of extra credits and quite a bit of extra knowledge relevant to other duty posts as well his official Major in Tactics and Minor in Comm/Ops.
SERVICE RECORD
The Formation of The Thracian Alliance
In 238810 Daniels completed his Cadet cruise, and graduated from Starfleet Academy. In 238811 Daniels was stationed on Starbase 118 as an Ensign Tactical Officer serving under Captain Andrus Jaxx, he was on base during the events of the Thracian dispute and the formation of Thracian Alliance. Though he did not participate fully in that mission, as the Victory had already departed when he arrived, instead he served as an analyst and lead his first customs boarding mission on a suspicious ship that wasn't answering hails.
Promotion and Reikara attack
In 238902 Colt Daniels was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade and was given the the honor of serving as Chief Tactical Officer for Starbase 118 and it's support ship the USS Victory, under the newly appointed CO, Commander Kalianna Nicholotti. Shortly after his promotion, Starbase 118 and the Victory were sabotaged by the Reikara terrorist cell. They soon received word that the Reikara had fired a massive cloud of metallic projectiles directly at the base and that the time to impact was no more than one week. With all critical systems heavily damaged on the Starbase and the Victory was the only ship left with any kind of functionality, Daniels aided Ensigns Harold Foster and Makral in the testing and development of an experimental weapon called the "Mass-Implosion Field Cannon". Despite the rushed testing phase, the cannon was mounted in place of some of the USS Victory's phaser banks and the Ship set a course to intercept the cloud. When the time came Daniels fired the cannon manually, as there was no targeting program available and successfully destroyed the projectiles.

Return to Starbase 118
After several months away and the cancellation of his previous mission due to the Klingon Invasion of Romulan space, Colt was transferred back to Starbase 118 in 238908. His orders stated that he had been transferred to "Reinforce Starbase 118 Tactical Department in anticipation of hostile activity in the Trinity Sector". He served as Tactical Officer, once again serving under Captain Kalianna Nicholotti.
Assasination Attempt
Shortly after his return to Starbase 118, intel received reports of a plot to assassinate Captain Nicholotti. Concerned for his Captain and friend, Daniels volunteered to operate as a bodyguard for her until the situation had been resolved. On the night of 238909.22, an officer in the tactical department broke protocol and allowed and uncleared woman to enter the Captain's office. The woman attempted to attack the Captain with a poison blade but was thwarted by Daniels. The attack left him badly wounded.
Invasion of the Thracian System
Still recovering from the wounds he sustained in the attack, Daniels served in an advisory capacity during the mission to locate and defend the Thracian President. From a temporary setup in sickbay, Daniels worked to coordinate tactical operations with the two other ships accompanying the Victory on it's mission; the Apollo and the Achilles.
Promotion and Duty Post Change
Daniels was promoted to Lieutenant on 238911.28 and given the position of Strategic Operations Officer for Starbase 118.
Leave of Absence
After a series of injuries and personal failures, Daniels requests a leave of absence.
Starfleet Academy
Following his leave of absence, Daniels was accepted a position as an instructor at the Starfleet Academy Survival School. There he leveraged his real world experience to prepare cadets for their future careers as Tactical and Security officers.

NOTABLE RELATIONSHIPS
Kalianna Nicholotti - Kali was one of the first friends Colt made after being stationed on Starbase 118, and after spending quite a bit of time together on his first shore leave, their friendship started to turn into something more. In the wake of Captain Jaxx's departure and the transfer of command to (then) Commander Nicholotti, their closeness soon became the subject of scrutiny. After a memorable experience in the holodeck in which Kali took him on ride in a holographic representation of her antique jet, they solidified their status as a couple. Unfortunately, the relationship was short-lived; Colt had volunteered for a mission that would take him away from the Starbase for a long time, ultimately causing the two to go their seperate ways. After Colt returned to Starbase 118, he attempted to rekindle things with Kali, but she had moved on.
Vincent Jones - Despite an initial confrontation between the two over what Colt had put Kali through, Colt managed to earn Jones' respect when he put himself between her and the assassin's blade. Putting their initial problems behind them the two began a friendship built on mutual respect.
Anya Nicholotti - Colt first met the fully sentient Biological/Holomatrix clone while she was was acting as decoy for Captain Nicholotti. When the assassin attacked, it was actually her that he had defended. When Colt woke up after the attack, Anya told him the truth, as she believed that she was going to be deactivated. Colt felt an intangible connection with her, likely due to the traumatic experience they shared, he vowed to do whatever he had to to keep her safe. Their kinship seemed poised to blossom into something more after an emotional night spent together, but the Greeters intervened when they took Anya to Odyssey Station, leaving many questions unanswered.
