Background
Originally, Gail ended up on the USS Apollo-A coming in as a programming technician after doing time on one of the outpost starbases. The benefit of first being assigned to one of those starbase numbers, especially on the outskirts of the Federation, one learned to make do with what they could get their hands on since supplies could take up to a few weeks and most starbases ended up being self-sufficient. Gail held no illusions then, her actual department in the beginning covering both science and engineering. Three years ago she got her first assignment out of the Academy, and now a Lieutenant on her second assignment aboard the USS Apollo-A.
Her combo skill set landed Gail as backup support for either Science or Engineering, a role she already performed. At some point a comment made swooped her into becoming a member of Mission Control, which she found to her liking. Or more suited, as she liked to think. She could be both, and more, having access to the data coming through the MC.
She's very tech-savy, likes to build small tech toys on the side. Very confident but can be a bit intense at times, especially if there's a new gadget she hasn't seen before.
