My name is Deliera Jay, I am an Australian, and I am currently the writer for Sky Blake on the USS Vigilant.
I have too many PNPCs. :/
User-Handy pages
- Rank Pips
- If you're trying to find it manually, search Category:Pips. It took me forever to find this page...
FBC Hints
- You can have never have too many links in a page or a sentence (if you feel that there are too many, you can hide them easily: Featured Bio Contest
- [[Featured Bio Contest| Featured Bio Contest]]
- You can never have too many categories. I should know; I have around seventeen categories on Sky's page.
- The Awards links are the things that cause a bio to be rejected from FBC consideration (judging criteria). A template was specially made as an attempt to avoid this - type in {{Awardlinks}} in your profile, and that criteria is automatically met.
- You are not required to have an extremely impressive bio in order to win. You don't need to have the best of wiki skills. You don't need to have a gazillion images - you can even have the "No Image" picture in your character's template! If you can paint a picture of what your character looks like, how your character gets on with their family and friends, what your character did as a child, and your character's living space, and that picture is clear (but not excessive), you have a better chance.
- You must have your crew's roster template. There is no excuse for you not having a template. Some ships even have two or three for your choosing. If you need assistance in locating one of them, don't hesitate to ask.
Wiki tips & hints
- For those who don't want to have just the one side of a uniform collar, Rich recently created a template for your benefit: Template:2collar. However, if your character is a Marine and you wish to use this, you'll have to use the actual coding because the template isn't compatible with the Marine rank pips, and I don't think the Crewmen rank pips are either.
I just had a look at Civilian recognition.
The template has to change slightly to accommodate for the 26px height. Unfortunately they also join the Crewmen & Marine rank pips.
- I have discovered that certain drop-down boxes (not all) use a similar concept to that of your professional history table. Believe it or not, some of them aren't that hard to master. The start of the table is really the only thing that's different - everything else is either the same or very similar.
