On stardate 199712.15, his seventeenth birthday he applied to Starfleet Academy Medical School, after two semesters he transfered to the ordinary Academy and continued his training as a science/opps cadet. He was a great athlete, although he rarely competed. He was more interested in studying. He graduated from Starfleet Academy on stardate 199908.24 in the upper second of his class.
