Naming Conventions
To reflect fleet upgrades every 20-25 years, the Al-Leyans use a registration code that reflects each new model and intended use, as shown below:-

|---|---|
| 1D | Model is based on the Klingon D-5 design. |
| 7D | Model is based on the Klingon Bird-of-Prey design. |
| n | Vessel is designed for diplomatic missions. |
| x | Vessel is designed for stealth operations. |
| s | Vessel is designed to serve as a battleship. |
| c | Vessel has been designed to be compact. |
Using the codes above, is is possible to determine that a Ziela 1Ds Mark XI has been built for stealth operations using the KlingonD-5 design.
