Hobbies and Pastimes
Denji grew up near the ocean on Australia's south coast. Most of his favorite activities are related to the water and the beach like surfing, snorkelling, swimming, sailing, rowing, and beach volleyball. Denji also enjoys applying his El-Aurian listening skills to unique forms of musical expression. He uses computer software to create music and is a very successful DJ that has created a name for himself by combining seemingly incompatible musics from species and cultures from around the galaxy.
Likes and Dislikes
Denji likes new experiences above all. New cultures, new worlds, and new discovery are at the core of all of his likes. Conversly, Denji dislikes monotony, routine, apathy and indifference.
Ambitions and Goals
Denji has ambitions to explore the galaxy, satisfy his curiosities, interact and learn about people, and is devoted to discovery. His goals in Starfleet are to make his way through the ranks with the dream of being an integral part of a Federation mission of diplomacy in the Delta quadrant in the future.
Achievements and Disappointments
Denji is proud of his music awards and his volleyball medals. However, he is most proud that he was able to achieve them with his friend Jace. Denji would argue that his biggest achievement is maintaining his authentic self despite the pressures of academia and Starfleet to conform to a more 'profession' way of thinking, feeling, and behaving. Denji has had disappointments in his life: losing competitions, losing friends, less than expected grades. However, disappointments have seemingly no affect on him. Even in the face of learning his father had been keeping his El-Aurian heritage from him and having no knowledge or contact with his mother, Denji has remained steadfast in optimism, joy, and wonderment.
