A cloned race of scientists descended entirely from the five survivors-the "Progenitors"-of a colony ship in the 22nd Century. They abandoned sexual reproduction due to their limited gene pool and found it repugnant being reunited with the lusty Bringloidi, their original shipmates, in 2365 to avoid the 15-generation limit of replicative fading.
